== Information and truth matter == ''Magnifica Humanitas'' also treats truth as a common good. Digital technology can make knowledge available with extraordinary speed, but it can also multiply falsehood, manipulation, synthetic media, addictive communication, and environments in which people no longer know whom to trust. A society cannot function indefinitely without some shared ability to establish facts. Technology should therefore strengthen rather than deliberately undermine people's ability to perceive reality, exercise judgment, and communicate truthfully. Human attention itself should not be regarded merely as another commodity to capture and sell.
