== Babel or Jerusalem? == That final question may be the easiest way to remember the encyclical. Human ingenuity is real. Technological progress is real. Artificial intelligence is powerful. Economic productivity matters. Scientific discovery is good. None of these things is God. None of them defines the worth of a human person. None of them supplies its own moral purpose. We therefore remain responsible for deciding what to build. The construction site is already open. The tools are already in our hands. ''Magnifica Humanitas'' asks us to decide whether we are building Babel or rebuilding Jerusalem.
