Category:Perl Lazarus Project
The Perl Lazarus Project is an effort arising from Perl Guilds to make practical Windows GUI development, packaging, and distribution available to Perl programmers through a clear and repeatable workflow.
The project joins existing tools rather than attempting to replace them with a single monolithic development environment. Its principal stack includes:
- Strawberry Perl;
- wxWidgets and wxPerl;
- wxGlade;
- MSYS2, vim, and Git;
- PAR-based executable packaging;
- DLL-discovery tools;
- and Inno Setup.
The goal is to help a Perl programmer begin with existing Perl knowledge and end with a Windows application which an ordinary user can install, launch, and use without first reproducing the developer's environment.
